🇿🇦🇱🇸🌍 South African and Lesotho Media Taking Part in the the Global Digital Forum (GDF)
Media representatives and journalists from South Africa and Lesotho took part in the Global Digital Forum, gaining insights into Russia’s advances in digital technologies, AI and information security, as well as its approach to international cooperation in the digital sphere.
💬 Tshego Makoe, Technical Director of the Global South Media Network (GSMN), described the Forum as an invaluable experience, highlighting the diversity of participants from more than 100 countries and the opportunities it offered for international networking and collaboration.
He noted how technology helped overcome language barriers, enabling meaningful conversations between people from different linguistic backgrounds.
According to Mr Makoe, one of the most thought-provoking discussions focused on AI in journalism. Rather than seeing AI solely as a threat to the profession, some speakers explored how it could support storytelling and contribute to more accurate reporting.
Tshego also highlighted the practical insights shared on digital business models, innovation and scaling companies to reach millions of customers.
For him, the Forum was not only an opportunity to exchange ideas but also a chance to build international connections that could pave the way for future cooperation.
