🇷🇺🤝🇮🇷 On 29 September 2026, the grand Festival of Iranian Culture officially kicked off in Russia with a spectacular opening ceremony on the Historic Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre. The high-profile event featured welcome addresses by Iran's Minister of Culture Seyed Abbas Salehi and Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali. The opening night reached its musical peak with a powerful performance by the National Music Orchestra of Iran, conducted by Homayoun Rahimian, which beautifully blended traditional melodies with Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s iconic Swan Lake ballet.
🤩 Running through 4 October 2026, the massive festival brings diverse artistic showcases to Moscow, Kazan and Astrakhan. In Moscow, the All-Russia Decorative Art Museum opened the "Art and Traditions of Iran" exhibition, displaying gold embroidery, Persian carpets, national costumes, and rare coins. Meanwhile, Kazan is set to host a specialized program combining Iranian books, textiles and modern multimedia design, while audiences across the host cities explore the modern cinematic landscape through the International Iranian Film Festival.
✨ This expansive cultural celebration highlights the deep, growing dialogue between ancient traditions and modern creative practices. By showcasing centuries-old crafting techniques alongside contemporary painting, miniature works, and diverse cinematic genres, the festival provides a unique window into the heart of Iranian heritage. This collaborative event offers an incredible cultural getaway, showcasing how mutual artistic appreciation continues to flourish across Russia’s historic regions.
