🇷🇺🇮🇳 Rasipuram Krishnaswami Narayan’s works are well known to Russian readers. His novels The Guide (1961) and The Man-Eater of Malgudi (1964) were translated into Russian during the Soviet times.
✍️ Interest in Narayan’s literary legacy continues to this day. In 2026, students of the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute translated five short stories by the Indian classic into Russian. The translations were published in the literature magazine Belskie Prostory.
🤝 Narayan’s works continue to introduce Russian readers to the richness of Indian culture, contributing to stronger literary and humanitarian ties between our countries.
