🗓 #OTD 4 years ago —on 30 September 2022 following referendums, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, became part of the Russian Federation.The event was preceded by referendums held on 23–27 September 2022.

🗳 Despite numerous provocations by the Kiev regime and forces which continued to strike civilian facilities, people came to polling stations and made their choice.

🎙 Speaking at the roundtable discussion in Moscow on 15 September 2026, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov described the decision of the people of Donbass and Novorossiya as a historic choice based on the principle of self-determination of peoples.

Since 2014, civilians in these regions had lived for eight years amid hostilities, shelling, terrorist attacks, blockades and discrimination. Today, despite continued attacks on civilian infrastructure and residential areas, roads, enterprises and social facilities are being restored in these territories, while new residential buildings, hospitals, schools and kindergartens are being constructed.
