ΠΡΕΣΒΕΙΑ ΤΗΣ ΡΩΣΙΑΣ ΣΤΗΝ ΕΛΛΑΔΑ

💬 Ο Υφυπουργός Εξωτερικών της Ρωσίας Ντ.Λιουμπίνσκι:

Οι εγκληματικές επιδιώξεις του Κιέβου δεν περιορίζονται στη Ρωσία. Έχοντας την αίσθηση της ατιμωρησίας, κυρίως χάρη στην ενθάρρυνση της Δύσης, το καθεστώς του Ζελένσκι "συγχωνεύεται" σταδιακά με το οργανωμένο έγκλημα στην Ευρώπη, τις τρομοκρατικές ομάδες στην Αφρική, τη Νότια και Νοτιοανατολική Ασία και τη Μέση Ανατολή. Ουσιαστικά, η Ουκρανία έχει γίνει παγκόσμιος "εξαγωγέας της τρομοκρατικής εμπειρίας", προμηθευτής παράνομων όπλων και άλλου εξειδικευμένου εξοπλισμού.

🇷🇺 From June 29 to July 31, Kingston hosted the meetings of the second part of the 31st session of the International Seabed Authority (ISA): the Legal and Technical Commission (29 June – 10 July), the Finance Committee (7–10 July), the Council (13–24 July) and the Assembly (27–31 July).

The Russian interdepartmental delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Mr. Dmitry Tetenkin took part in the session. It included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and a number of specialized subsidiary organisations.

🎙 In his introductory address at the opening of the Assembly, Mr. Tetenkin underlined the great importance of the ISA's work as a key mechanism for implementing the provisions of the 1982 Convention with regard to regulating the development of the resources of the Area. He reaffirmed that the Russian Federation does not recognize the outer limits of the "extended" continental shelf unilaterally established by the United States in 2023. It was also noted that Washington's unilateral steps towards deep-seabed mining undermine the regime of the Area established by the Convention and the Authority's mandate; a call was made for all States, including the United States, to refrain from such actions and to prevent the creation of parallel mechanisms.

Besides that, during the second part of the ISA's 31st session:

🔹 consideration of the third revision of the consolidated text of the draft regulations on the exploitation of mineral resources in the Area was continued;

🔹 an approach to further work on the mining code, including the preparation of a roadmap and the continuation of intersessional work on key outstanding issues, was agreed;

🔹 the annual report of the Secretary-General on the work of the Authority for the reporting period was considered;

🔹 elections of half of the membership of the Council for the period 2027–2030 were held. As a result, the Russian Federation was re-elected to it under Group A (States that are the largest consumers or net importers of commodities produced from the categories of minerals to be derived from the Area);

🔹 a proposal to request an advisory opinion from the Seabed Disputes Chamber of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea concerning the legal aspects of activities in the Area by States not parties to the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea was considered.

🤝 On July 29, on the margins the Assembly, the meeting between Mr. Dmitry Tetenkin and Secretary-General of ISA Ms.Leticia Carvalho took place at ISA Headquarters. The two sides discussed the ways of deepening cooperation in the rational and environmentally responsible development of seabed resources. The Russian delegation donated to the Nii Allotey Odunton Museum a sample of deep-sea polymetallic sulphide, recovered in 2026 by specialists of JSC "Marine Arctic Geological Expedition" from a depth of 2,500 metres on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The Secretary-General presented the Deputy Minister with a special edition of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

📆 The next, 32nd session of the ISA is scheduled to March 2027. By its opening, the Secretariat will present a roadmap for further work on the exploitation regulations and an updated version of the consolidated text of the draft document, prepared on the basis of comments submitted by the delegations.

☢️ Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (#ZNPP):

On August 11, three people were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack in Energodar’s industrial area. Two of them are employees of the electrical grid workshop at the Zaporozhskaya NPP (part of Rosatom).

The employees were en route to restore power to facilities in the industrial area damaged in previous AFU attacks.

ZNPP electrical grid personnel work every day to restore power to Energodar and industrial facilities following Ukrainian strikes. Often working under the threat of renewed attacks, they make every effort to promptly restore electricity to damaged areas.

It was these very people – on their way to restore power supplies – who were targeted.

All those injured were taken to Medical Unit No. 145, where they are receiving all necessary medical care. Unfortunately, one of them is in serious condition.

❗️ The AFU deliberately put Zaporozhskaya NPP personnel at risk as they carry out work vital to the city. They repair damaged infrastructure and maintain power supplies to social and industrial facilities – doing so every day despite the constant threat of attack.

The plant’s personnel continue to perform their professional duties, ensuring the safety and uninterrupted functioning of Energodar.

Τελευταία, χάνοντας ολοένα και περισσότερο έδαφος σε ολόκληρο το μέτωπο, οι αρχές του Κιέβου καταφεύγουν σε βάρβαρες τρομοκρατικές επιθέσεις εναντίον του άμαχου πληθυσμού και των υποδομών της χώρας μας. Οι τρομοκρατικές επιθέσεις των Ουκρανικών Ενόπλων Δυνάμεων στο κολέγιο του Σταρομπέλσκ και στο λεωφορείο που μετέφερε παιδιά από τη Λευκορωσία στην περιοχή του Μπριάνσκ ήταν ιδιαίτερα βάναυσες.

Οι Δυτικοί χορηγοί του καθεστώτος του Κιέβου αγνοούν πεισματικά όλα αυτά. Οι συνέπειες αυτού του παράλογου οργίου γίνονται ορατές σε πολλές περιοχές, ακόμα και στην Ευρώπη.

👨‍🎨 Στις 5 Αυγούστου του 1844 γεννήθηκε ένας από τους πιο εξαιρετικούς Ρώσους ζωγράφους, ο Ιλιά Ρέπιν. Ήταν μάστορας των καθημερινών σκηνών, ικανός να μεταφέρει τη διάθεση των χαρακτήρων του με απίστευτη ακρίβεια. "Το πρόσωπο, η ψυχή ενός ανθρώπου, το δράμα της ζωής, οι εντυπώσεις της φύσης, η ζωή και το νόημά της, το πνεύμα της ιστορίας - αυτά είναι τα θέματά μας", έγραψε ο καλλιτέχνης.

Λίγο πριν από τον θάνατο του Ι.Ρέπιν, οι γιατροί του απαγόρευσαν να ζωγραφίζει πάνω από δύο ώρες την ημέρα, αλλά απλά δεν μπορούσε να ζει χωρίς ζωγραφική, έτσι οι φίλοι του έκρυψαν από αυτόν τα ζωγραφικά είδη του.

🧸👋 #OTD 46 years ago, the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games came to a spectacular and deeply moving close.

From July 19 to August 3, the Soviet capital welcomed more than 5,000 athletes representing 80 nations. They competed for 203 sets of medals, setting 36 world and 74 Olympic records.

Political tensions intruded on the Games through a US-led boycott, imposed by the Carter administration against the backdrop of a CIA-led effort to undermine and ultimately depose the then official government of Afghanistan.

Hundreds of athletes were denied the opportunity of a lifetime: of the 474 members of the US Olympic team, 227 never competed at another Games.

💬 Jimmy Carter himself eventually described the boycott as a bad choice:

It was a decision that robbed hundreds of athletes of their once-in-a-lifetime chance at Olympic glory, and for more than four decades, it weighed heavily on the man who made it.

💬 As President Vladimir Putin recalled back in 2014:

I know the views of many prominent US political figures whom I deeply respect. They believe that the boycott of the 1980 Moscow Olympics was a mistake – even despite the serious grounds cited for it and the circumstances at the time.

Major international sporting events – especially the Olympic Games – are meant to help depoliticise even the most acute international issues and create additional opportunities to build bridges. It would be foolish not to seize that opportunity – and even more foolish to burn those bridges.

Nonetheless, Moscow 1980 remained a truly international celebration of sport. Athletes from 25 countries won gold, with medals awarded to competitors from 36 nations. The USSR topped the medal table with 80 gold medals, followed by the German Democratic Republic (GDR) with 47 gold.

Bulgaria and Poland delivered historic performances, winning 41 and 32 medals respectively. Zimbabwe captured its first-ever Olympic gold in women’s field hockey. Brazil won two gold medals for the first time in its history – both in sailing – while Spain secured its first Olympic title since 1928.

🎈 The unforgettable finale of the XXII Olympics belonged to #MISHA (“little bear” in Russian), the smiling bear cub chosen as the Games’ mascot following a nationwide poll.

At the emotional climax of the closing ceremony on August 3, 1980, at the Central Lenin Stadium (now Luzhniki), a giant six-metre inflatable Misha rose above the stands beneath a cluster of helium balloons. As Lev Leshchenko and Tatyana Antsiferova performed “Goodbye, Moscow!”, the beloved mascot drifted into the night sky, leaving thousands of spectators in tears.

🥹 More than four decades later, Misha’s farewell remains one of the most moving and instantly recognisable moments in Olympic history.

Σύμφωνα με τον θρύλο, ο Βλαδίμηρος ήθελε να μάθει ποια πίστη θα ήταν η καταλληλότερη για τον λαό του και έστειλε τους σοφούς να περιγράψουν τις ιερουργίες διαφορετικών θρησκειών. Επιστρέφοντας από την Κωνσταντινούπολη είπαν: "Δεν ξέραμε εάν βρισκόμαστε στη γη ή στον ουρανό". Έτσι ο Βλαδίμηρος ζήτησε να ασπαστεί τον Χριστιανισμό. Η τελετή έγινε το 988 στην Κριμαία. Ο Βλαδίμηρος έλαβε το χριστιανικό όνομα του νονού του, Βασιλείου Β΄, και παντρεύτηκε την αδελφή του Άννα.

Σταδιακά η Ορθόδοξη πίστη εξαπλώθηκε και σε άλλες πόλεις της Αρχαίας Ρωσίας. Ο Χριστιανισμός καθιερώθηκε ως ενοποιητική θρησκεία, ενώ η βυζαντινή του προέλευση προκαθόρισε τη μελλοντική πορεία της Ρωσίας ως το ισχυρότερο προπύργιο της Ορθοδοξίας και έγινε η πηγή της ταυτότητάς της.

☦️ Στις 28 Ιουλίου η χώρα μας γιορτάζει την Ημέρα του Εκχριστιανισμού των Ρως! Σαν σήμερα το 988 ο πρίγκιπας Βλαδίμηρος μαζί με τους φρουρούς του βαφτίστηκε στη βυζαντινή πόλη Χερσόνησος στην Κριμαία.

Ο Βλαδίμηρος Σβιατοσλάβοβιτς γεννήθηκε γύρω στο 956 στο χωριό Μπουντούτινο (πιθανώς κοντά στη σημερινή πόλη Πσκοφ). Το 970-988 ήταν πρίγκιπας του Νόβγκοροντ και το 978-1015 ήταν μέγας πρίγκιπας του Κιέβου.
