✍️ Russian Ambassador to South Africa and Lesotho Roman Ambarov:

💬 Dear friends,

I have a distinct pleasure to invite everyone to the launch of From Cairo to Cape, newly released memoirs by Prof Vladimir Shubin, one of Russia’s most prominent scholars and renowned experts in African studies.

Well-researched and compellingly written, this deeply personal account reads like a gripping Cold War political thriller.

Drawing on Prof Shubin’s first-hand experience, the book examines Africa’s historical relationship with the Soviet Union and offers an insider’s perspective on Moscow’s support for liberation movements in southern Africa, including South Africa’s liberation struggle.
