A serious road accident occurred early on June 29 along the Molos seafront in Limassol, and it could easily have ended in tragedy.
According to Police, a 38-year-old Russian national first crashed into a vehicle travelling ahead before losing control of his car. The vehicle then swerved across the road, struck several parked cars, knocked down protective bollards and an electricity pole, and finally came to a stop in the middle of the roadway.
🚗 Five vehicles were damaged in total.
🍺 A preliminary breathalyser test reportedly returned a positive alcohol reading. The driver was taken to Limassol Traffic Police, where further procedures are underway. Police are expected to ask the court to remand him in custody while the investigation continues.
Fortunately, no one was killed. The exact number and extent of any injuries have not yet been officially confirmed.
