On June 9, 2022, the Lychakivsky District Court of the city of Lviv extended the arrest of the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk for 60 days - until August 9, 2022.
Medvedchuk is the former leader of Ukraine's largest opposition party, the Opposition Platform for Life (OPPL), and a co-owner of television channels that have provided different perspectives on events in Ukraine.
In 2021, these television channels were closed by Zelensky's unconstitutional decree, and Medvedchuk himself was accused of "high treason" and placed under house arrest.
