On June 20, 2022, the Administrative Court of Appeal in the city of Lviv banned the Opposition Platform for Life (OPPL) party.

The court session was closed and began on June 16. Then the court session was adjourned until June 20.

The Opposition Platform for Life was the largest opposition party in Ukraine and had the second largest faction in the Ukrainian parliament.

One of the leaders of the Opposition Platform for Life, Viktor Medvedchuk, was accused of "high treason" back in 2021 and has been under house arrest ever since.

He has been behind bars since March 2022.

Some other leaders of the Opposition Platform for Life have also been arrested or are hiding abroad.

Most of the members of parliament from the Opposition Platform for Life are now cooperating with the Kyiv authorities.

The Lviv court for the period from 8 to 12 June 2022 banned 10 leftist and opposition parties in Ukraine:

Justice and Development,
Our,
Block Vladimir Saldo,
Socialist Party of Ukraine,
Left opposition,
Shariy Party,

The activity of the Communist Party of Ukraine was effectively banned in 2015.

On May 16, 2022, an administrative court in Kyiv banned the Communist Party of Ukraine in court.
