π Matthew 4:17 Explained:
β Matthew 4:17 NEVER says "repent OF YOUR SINS to be saved"/"turn FROM YOUR SINS to be saved".
β Matthew 4:17's context shows that Zabulon, Nephthali, and Galiliee of the Gentiles was dwelling in darkness, meaning that they did not hear Jesus preach the gospel to them until he physically walked to those regions and verbially preached to their inhabitants because he/Jesus Christ was called "a great light" in Matthew 4:15-16 to the inhabitany of Zabulon, Nephthali, and Galiliee of the Gentiles that sat in darkness.
β Mark 1:14-15 cross references with Matthew 4:17 to show that to repent 1 time is synonymous as to believe 1 time/BELIEVED.
β Matthew 4:17's record of Jesus' preaching occured after both the events of Jesus' temptation in the wilderness by Satan, and of John the Baptist's imprisonment by Herod, happened.
π Matthew 4:11-17 1611 KJB π
11 Then the deuill leaueth him, and behold, Angels came and ministred vnto him.
12ΒΆ Now when Iesus had heard that Iohn was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee.
13 And leauing Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is vpon the Sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthali:
14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the Prophet, saying,
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthali, by the way of the Sea beyond Iordane, Galilee of the Gentiles:
16 The people which sate in darkenesse, saw great light: and to them which sate in the region and shadow of death, light is sprung vp.
17ΒΆ From that time Iesus began to preach, and to say, Repent, for the kingdome of heauen is at hand.

π John 1:1-5,10-17 1611 KJB π
1 In the beginning was the Word, & the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darknesse, and the darknesse comprehended it not.
.. 10 Hee was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 Hee came vnto his owne, and his owne receiued him not.
12 But as many as receiued him, to them gaue hee power to become the sonnes of God, euen to them that beleeue on his Name:
13 Which were borne, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs (& we beheld his glory, the glory as of the onely begotten of the Father) full of grace and trueth.
15 Iohn bare witnesse of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that commeth after me, is preferred before me, for he was before me.
16 And of his fulnesse haue all wee receiued, and grace for grace.
17 For the Law was giuen by Moses, but grace and trueth came by Iesus Christ.
π John 9:5 1611 KJB π
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
π John 12:46 1611 KJB π
I am come a light into the world, that whosoeuer beleeueth on me, should not abide in darkenesse.
π John 11:47-48 1611 KJB π
47 Uerely, verely I say vnto you, Hee that beleeueth on me, hath euerlasting life.
48 I am that bread of life.
