Is Unbelief a Sin?
πYes, unbelief is one sin (Romans 14:23; Hebrews 3:17-19). However, on the subject of salvation alone, when someone repents for salvation, he is not repenting of their transgression of God's law or of some or every sin they commited, but only repents of their trusting their dead works (trusting dead works is an example of unbelief against God; both of these also include people who trust idols/statues/false gods, cults, etc instead of God only), towards/to faith in the biblical, resurrected Lord Jesus Christ/ God the Son in the flesh alone
πRomans 14:23 KJB
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
πHebrews 6:1 KJB
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
πNote tunbelief is/the words "believe not" are called a sin with the word "sinned":
πHebrews 3:17-19 KJB
But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
πWhen a person repents for salvation, he is not repenting of transgressing/of breaking God's law, because since sin is the transgression of God's law, then if you trust God's law for salvation you would need to trust your dead works. However, man can never be justified in God's sight by works [following God's commandments or his 10 commandments or his law(s)] for salvation since we all have sinned & are guilty before God. Even doing only one sin means you are guilty before God and are not saved (for those who are not saved/did not get saved yet). For salvation, you can only be justified before God ony when you repent towards/believe/your faith in only the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ/God the Son in the flesh
πRomans 3:19-23 KJB
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
πJames 2:10 KJB
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
πFor salvation/repentance toward God/repentance for eternal salvation, a person does not, is not repenting of, and will never be able to repent of any of their lying, blasphemings, theft, fornications, or other sins that they already committed.
πGalatians 3:22 KJB
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
πGalatians 2:16 KJB
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
πGalatians 3:24 KJB
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Repent for salvation=turn away from trusting in your dead works to have faith towards/to God alone/trust only the biblical, resurrected Lord Jesus Christ/God the Son in the flesh alone for eternal salvation instead of trusting on your own works.
Stop trusting your dead works /efforts or salvation & stop trusting yourself for salvation!
Trust only the biblical, resurrected Lord Jesus Christ/God the Son in the flesh for salvation, instead of your dead works, of trusting false gods, & of yourself.
