Revelation 2:5 is talking to saved people called "the church of Ephesus" as per Revelation 2:1. The church of Ephesus already got saved in Acts 18:19-21, 19:8, 19:17-18, which occurred many years before Revelation 2:1's words were given to John the Apostle. Jesus told the church of Ephesus to repent. That church's case was to do the first works they did
Acts 19:8, 10, 17-18 KJB
[8] And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
[10] And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
[17] And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. [18] And many that believed came,...
Revelation 2:1 KJB
[1] Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
[2] I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: [3] and hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
[Italicized words show that Revelation Chapter 3's verses 2 and 3 show what the first works of the church of Ephesus are:
πnot bear them which are evil
πhast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars
πhast patience
πhast borne
πhast laboured for Jesus' name's sake
πhast not fainted
and the first works of verse 3, which are refered to in verse 4, never mention turning from/repenting of sins to be saved from Hell and sin.]
[4] Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. [5] Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
(Revelation 2:4-5 KJB)
None of the first works that Jesus wanted the church of Ephesus to do, involve any "turn FROM SINS/repent OF SINS/stop SINNING" to be saved!
Thus, Revelation 2:5 never says "repent of sins/turn from sins" to recieve salvation".
