A 16-person Bitcoin Red Team has reported 4,962 security findings across 390 open-source projects in roughly 30 hours.
The findings include 85 critical and 635 high-severity issues.
The operation was launched following the recent Coldcard wallet exploit and combined AI-assisted code analysis with human security researchers.
More than 21% of the reported findings had already been independently reproduced, according to reports.
The campaign was supported by OpenSats, which covered approximately $40,000 in AI compute costs.
The findings are still being reviewed and validated, but the scale of the operation highlights significant security risks across the wider Bitcoin software ecosystem.
