A Hyperliquid user has reportedly lost approximately $550,000 after being targeted through a fraudulent Google search advertisement.
The malicious advertisement reportedly redirected the victim to a fake website designed to impersonate Hyperliquid. Following the compromise, the stolen funds were transferred to multiple attacker-controlled addresses and converted into ETH.
Blockchain analysts are tracking several addresses connected to the incident, including two wallets that have already received and processed portions of the stolen funds.
The attack highlights the growing use of malicious search advertisements as an entry point for cryptocurrency theft, with scammers increasingly impersonating major crypto platforms.
