President Donald Trump on Thursday said he would return to Texas to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton "if it's necessary."

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: We have a good guy. Look, Ken Paxton's a guy that whether you like Ken or not, honestly, I mean, I understand some people are controversial, etc.

I don't happen to be a controversial person. So I'm very happy. But Ken is a little bit controversial.

The one thing about him, he may have been the best attorney general in this country for many, many years. He was amazing as the attorney general. He was you don't get better.

He was the top of the list or certainly in a very small group of attorney generals. He was probably the best in the history of Texas. The things he did on voter fraud, the things he did on covid.

And he did tremendous work and he wasn't afraid to do it either. So you have to give somebody a lot of credit for that. He was the best attorney general in the history of Texas.

He was certainly right now one of the best attorney generals in our country. You got to give him a lot of points for that. So hopefully he's going to win.

I'd see the they pulled a pretty even now. And we had a great rally in Texas. I'll go back if it's necessary.
