🏅 “Giredmet” Celebrates Its 95th Anniversary: Institute Employees Honored with a Letter of Appreciation from the President of the Russian Federation

On September 24, an expanded meeting of the Joint Scientific and Technical Council of JSC “Giredmet” was held at the headquarters of Rosatom, dedicated to the institute’s 95th anniversary. The central event was the presentation to the employees of a Letter of Appreciation from the President of the Russian Federation for contribution to the nuclear industry and outstanding achievements in work.

Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev sent his greetings to the institute’s employees:
“Your institute is considered the founder of the domestic rare-metal industry and a flagship of materials science. In 1944, Giredmet scientists priduced the first ingot of pure metallic uranium — this became an important milestone in the creation of the first Soviet nuclear reactor. Modern aviation, space exploration, microelectronics, and the defense industry can't be imagined without your products.”

The award was presented to the employees by Evgeny Abakumov, Deputy Director General of Rosatom for Science and Strategy.
