On September 24, an expanded meeting of the Joint Scientific and Technical Council of JSC “Giredmet” was held at the headquarters of Rosatom, dedicated to the institute’s 95th anniversary. The central event was the presentation to the employees of a Letter of Appreciation from the President of the Russian Federation for contribution to the nuclear industry and outstanding achievements in work.

Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev sent his greetings to the institute’s employees:
“Your institute is considered the founder of the domestic rare-metal industry and a flagship of materials science. In 1944, Giredmet scientists priduced the first ingot of pure metallic uranium — this became an important milestone in the creation of the first Soviet nuclear reactor. Modern aviation, space exploration, microelectronics, and the defense industry can't be imagined without your products.”

The award was presented to the employees by Evgeny Abakumov, Deputy Director General of Rosatom for Science and Strategy.

24 сентября в штаб-квартире «Росатома» состоялось расширенное заседание объединённого научно-технического совета АО «Гиредмет», посвящённое 95-летию института. Центральным событием стало вручение коллективу Благодарности Президента Российской Федерации за заслуги в атомной отрасли и достигнутые трудовые успехи.

Генеральный директор «Росатома» Алексей Лихачёв направил приветствие сотрудникам института:
«Ваш институт по праву считается родоначальником отечественной редкометаллической отрасли и флагманом материаловедческой науки. 🚀 Giredmet and ALT METALS sign contract to establish pilot titanium sponge production in India

The Giredmet Institute (Chemical Technological Cluster of the Scientific Division of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation) and Indian company ALT METALS Private Limited have signed a contract to carry out work on the establishment of pilot production of titanium sponge. The signing took place during the "Innoprom.India" exhibition held in India.

🌍 International cooperation:
The document was signed by Andrey Goliney, Director of the Chemical Technological Cluster of Rosatom Science JSC – the managing organization of Giredmet JSC, and Mr. Anjani Sri Murtya Sunkavali, Founder and CEO of ALT METALS Private Limited. The agreement is aimed at developing cooperation between Russian and Indian specialists in the field of deep processing of mineral raw materials.

• Development of initial data for designing industrial production of titanium sponge with a capacity of 1000 tons per year.
• Study of the customer's raw materials and laboratory tests.
• Manufacture and supply of a set of laboratory equipment.
