Is new linux control centers even a thing anymore?

Hello Lads,

Hope ya'll doing well this fine evening!

I've been building a small Linux fleet panel on the side and I'm honestly not sure if anyone besides me would actually use it.

It's basically a web panel plus a lightweight agent you install on each server. You get a single place to see hosts (online/offline, basic health, disks, services), run common jobs (reboot, package stuff, service restarts, cert scans, inventory), open a terminal when you need one, and get alerts when something looks wrong. There's MFA for sensitive actions on marked hosts, SSH lockout after repeated failed logins , cert discovery for common web server layouts, bulk actions across many machines, and scheduled tasks. Think "ops console for a bunch of Linux boxes you actually own," not a full cloud platform. And many more upcoming security/monitoring/control and safety features upcoming.

I'm 50/50 on whether this is still something people want in 2026. A lot of teams live in Ansible/Terraform, cloud consoles, or all-in-one monitoring stacks, and maybe that's enough. On the other hand, I keep seeing small IT shops, MSPs, and homelab people who want something simpler than Elastic or a full SIEM, but more structured than SSH + scripts + spreadsheets.

Would you use something like this today? Is the problem still real for you, or has the world moved on? If you'd pay for it (or self-host it), what would have to be there for you to care—and what would make you ignore it completely?

Happy to hear "this niche is dead" or "you're solving the wrong thing"—that's what I'm trying to figure out.
