Self hosted ntfy notifications and deploying that server on Render Free tier: A bad or good Idea?

I am new to new hosting stuff, i am trying to get my personal ai assistant to send me a message every morning of my emails , meetings , tasks etc.

So the claude suggest me ntfy i checked it and found out that ntfy is open source. I got an idea to make it super secure why not self host it by downloading the docker image and host it on Render or any other free plaforms?

Is this a good idea? Is anyone using like this? Never used ntfy in my life
