Use caddy to direct to various tailscale domains

I'm sure this is fairly simple (I hope), but I am not familiar enough with Caddy & HTTP in general to understand how to do this.

I want to use Caddy to direct to a few different servers, so that I can use https in the browser & not have to remember what port I'm serving something on. Iv got two servers right now I am trying to reverse_proxy or redirect to (either one). Transmission & FileBrowser Quantum.

I can reverse_proxy to transmission no problem, but the filebrowser just does not want to function behind a reverse proxy. I could not care less if its behind the proxy, but I cannot get Caddy to redirect to it either.

Initially I tried nesting subdomains but Iv apparently Iv hit some kind of limit. The following does not function at all

torrent.caddy.<tailscale-domain>.ts.net {

reverse_proxy torrentbox.<tailscale-domain>.ts.net:9091

}

So I tried paths instead, which works with transmission but like I said does not work with the filebrowser service. Heres the Caddyfile I have now

caddy.<tailscale-domain>.ts.net {

reverse_proxy /torrent torrentbox.<tailscale-domain>.ts.net:9091

redir /files https://filebrowser.<tailscale.domain>.ts.net:45800 permanent

}

If I do not specify https, then the browser gives me an unknown protocol error. If I do specify https, then I get a SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG error.

Iv already spent too much time on this. This is all internal to my network and frankly I do not care how it is implemented. I simply am trying to be able to setup friendly domains for the services on the network, whether its tucked behind the reverse proxy or whether it just redirects, it doesnt matter.

Is there a way to achieve this? Am i going about it wrong? AlI am trying to do is give Caddy a few different urls and have it direct the user to the various servers.

Any ideas?
