Apple iCloud Content Caching on Linux - Is it possible?

Hey everyone!
macOS has a built-in Content Caching feature that caches certain Apple/iCloud content locally, reducing repeated downloads. It also supports to provide this content over the local network to other Apple devices, as Apple TV
My problem is that my MacBook isn’t always on, and iCloud Photos and videos can be painfully slow to load, especially on Apple TV.
I already have an Unraid server running 24/7, so buying a dedicated Mac mini just for caching seems unnecessary.
My idea: Run something similar in a Docker container on Unraid, allowing Apple devices to access cached content over the local network.
Has anyone managed to replicate Apple’s Content Caching on Linux? Are there any open-source projects or workarounds?
I know Apple’s ecosystem is pretty locked down, but I’m curious whether this is technically achievable, even if it means building something from scratch.
Would love to hear your thoughts!
