Unpopular opinion
I really hate how the show constantly repeats the same unhealthy pattern when a character needs to stand up for themselves.
It always goes like this:
1. A character is hurt or surprised by a friend's bad actions.
2. They stay silent and try to make excuses for them.
3. The mean character goes too far.
4. The hurt character finally explodes in anger and lets it all out at once.
5. The mean character is surprised and apologizes.
Why do we need to see this happen multiple times? Why can't they just say "this hurt me, friend" right away? Telling viewers that you need to shut up, bear the pain, and excuse a friend's bad behavior just because they are your friend is so unrealistic and unhealthy.
Real friendships and relationships need clear communication. Waiting until things go too far just to finally speak up isn't wise. The show keeps promoting this, making people think they should bear their pain until they can't take it anymore. This is not the right way to protect relationships; it’s just a cowardly way of handling conflict.
Do you agree with me or not?
