Hot take: we actually don't need that much compute power

Ive been using this machine for a long time now, and it has worked really well for me. As you can see, its kind of old and has pretty weak specs

Yet, for everything Ive used it for it has worked flawlessly. I usually use my computer for basic stuff and daily tasks, and sometimes even gaming. I only really play mc and some indie games

Sure, these are the perfect specs for me. But what Im trying to convey is that you dont actually have to buy the latest hardware or have a decent GPU if you dont need one. We gotta stop wasting our money on things we dont actually need

Sure, you can buy some stuff just for fun, or because you enjoy messing around with it. But seeing these things as an obligation or a necessity is pointless

I will probably stick with low-end hardware forever and only upgrade when I actually need something better. I actually spent more money on my keyboard and mouse because I know they affect my overall experience and are genuinely important to me
