I think Redhat is not bad and gets hated for no good reason
Hear me out. Most of the drivers we use in the Linux, are the result of Redhat pressuring the hardware manufacturers. Yeah well, they are a company, they must make money somehow. I mean who doesn't? There are some purist guys that think like oh open source you shouldn't get money from it it's "haram". Like it's some kind of religion.
If you are so purist about open source, try asking your boss to not pay you, and work for free. You wouldn't right? Cause sitting at your desk with your proud white collar job is easier. Just rant. These guys do it, and do it well. These guys do open source for professional work. So ofc there is gonna be payment involved. So there is gotta be some compromise to it of course. That’s how sustainable open source actually works in the real world.
If you don't like it, then don't use it. Simple as that. Or make your own kernel. It's GPLv2. As far as I know, Redhat respects GPLv2. And they deserve respect.
I've made some open source programs before. Because I am not gonna get paid for it, I actually didn't work so hard for it though. Why would I try hard for something free?
