I don't understand why people get confused with the file system of linux?

I heard a few youtubers saying people don't understand linux file system that everything is stored in / that kind of stuff. I picked up just fine coming from windows and no computer degree.

Your files stayed in a folder in Windows so it does here too. I think people get confused as there are no paritions as windows have. And when using more than one drive you need to Mount it, windows does that automatically which is good for ease of use but bad for security. what are your opinions?
