AMD Lenovo: force Pro Edition Drivers? Possible?
Lenovo: force AMD Pro Edition Drivers? Possible?
I bought a pretty overkill Laptop for studying Engineering an am now encountering SolidWorks. My Laptop an E-series, but the Hardware is basically the same as the P-series. Still, it is not recognized by solidworks because of the drivers… My question is: is ist possible to force the Drivers I need without negative consequences such as breaking the os/hardware and would it have the effect I wish for?
Sidenote: I am currently on Windows and I have yet to dual boot/ install Linux. So I‘m not yet into all the thechnical stuff and software details.
Below is my original post in the AMD subteddit. Noone awnsered…

\\*\\*Operating System & Version:\\*\\* WINDOWS 11 25H2
\\*\\*GPU Drivers:\\*\\* Treiberversion: 25.20.24.13-251222a-198166C (copied from adrinaline software)
\\*\\*Background Applications:\\*\\* solidworks 25
\\*\\*Description of Original Problem:\\*\\* Solidworks does not recognize my GPU, because of the drivers and therefore crashed under load. GPU usage is 1% and CPU usage 20%. The software is only compatible with my graphics card with the AMD 25.Q3.1 Drivers (https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/release-notes/RN-PRO-WIN-25-Q3-1.html). Problem is: this driver is concepted for the P-Series laptops. Can i still force the pro verion and if yes, what do i have to expect in terms of system stability?
\\*\\*Troubleshooting:\\*\\* Tried to manually install the driver though the Device manager (Failed because "optimal driver already installed").
