Council Member Angela Whitfield-Calloway has submitted a memorandum asking the Detroit City Council to adopt a resolution in support of House Bill 5537 — legislation that would ban the sale and use of kratom across Michigan. This is an initial referral, and it does not enact a ban in Detroit. But make no mistake: it is designed to put Michigan's largest city on record in favor of statewide prohibition.

Seeking fellow Kratom Advocates in Rensselaer County

There will be a hearing at the county building on 1600 7th Ave, Troy NY 12180. It begins at 6PM on September 8th, but the public comment time is a half hour before, so we need to be there before 5:30PM.

Please, anyone with experience managing opioid dependency or pain management without narcotics via use of whole-leaf kratom come along, share your story, and educate others on the difference between leaf kratom and the derivatives.

Just a forewarning to NYS residents

We are almost definitely going to be next on the chopping block. If you notice, a lot of these state bans start out as mass county bans first-and that's exactly what is happening in New York. The counties are dropping like flies. And due to what happened in CT & Mass, I have a strong feeling that we are next. I know there are some great advocates in NYS so I am asking that you please be vigilant and proactive. Thanks. ​

REMINDER: MASSACHUSETTS URGENT ACTION NEEDED

As you like heard, Massachusetts is moving forward with an emergency order placing all forms of kratom—including natural kratom leaf—into Schedule I. The order takes effect the end of August and can remain in place for up to one year.

This is dramatically broader than the recent federal DEA action, which targets high-concentration 7-OH and related substances while excluding botanical kratom products with naturally occurring 7-OH below the specified threshold.

Massachusetts to Schedule all Kratom Products in 14 days

The Governor and Department of Health will temporary place all kratom into schedule 1 for at least a year. There is a 14 day notice period. The propaganda is out in full force, they even made a website to discuss "risks and treatment options". This is all so disheartening.

North Carolina Bill?

Hi all! I just got an email from the AKA about an NC senate bill that would schedule natural leaf but I can’t find anything about it.

HB328 was the hemp bill that had the natural ban language in it, but it came out of the conference with only an age restriction and ban on synthetics. I don’t see any movement since then. Is there something I’m missing in that bill or is there a new one?

Kratom helps my neighbors mother who 90 years old .

Back story. My neighbor lives with her mother who is 90 years old. She slipped out of the shower and landed on her tailbone. This was last Friday

She layed on her bed and was in so much pain they didn't want to call the paramedics right away because they thought the pain would subside and it would hurt to much to move her so they planned on taking her Monday.

They are aware of what's going on with my back. Needing a major fusion next month that I'm even walking and going swimming. So her daughter wanted to know what I'm taking. Obviously never heard of it but was willing to try it. I asked if her mother is on any meds, even antihistamines. Nothing. Told her to follow the directions. 1/2 spoon brewed with some honey into tea.

That night her mother comes to my house all teary eyed calling me an angel. They we're even going to call paramedics but I convinced them to because it might be a fractured.

Turned out it wasn't but bruised very badly..

Best part is the doctor who was releasing her was going to write her a script for a strong anti-inflammatory.

Mother told him she wanted a script for Kratom. lol He said he couldn't write for stuff like that. . She said she didn't want anything then and they left.

Restless legs (not because of tolerance break)?

For context, I take about 10 GPD and have done so for about 4 years now. Mostly recreationally but also as a productivity enhancer and to help with my GAD.

From time to time, I get restless legs. Kinda hard to describe, but it is this uncomfortable sensation of tickling in my feet which also makes it difficult for me to concentrate. It isn't when I'm doing tolerance breaks or anything like that (I read that RLS is one of the common 'withdrawal' effects from kratom).

Has anyone been able to solve this? it can be between my doses. I do take magnesium citrate, l theanine and aswaganda. I also am prescribed 150mg sertraline SSRI (Zoloft equivalent). Otherwise I live healthy and work out and eat well.

first time dose for pain and sedation?

hello, i ordered a ounce of red bali kratom powder from a good quality vendor to try for pain and to help with sleep, how much should i take my first time for good pain relief and sedative relaxing effects? i saw a lot of 2-3g on here but also 3-4g i thought id just ask as well.

My experience of quitting after 3 years daily use

To summarize, I was taking about 8-10g daily (leaf) for 3 years. 4g in the morning and 4g in the afternoon. I quit cold turkey 4 weeks ago and had 0 withdrawal symptoms or cravings whatsoever. Maybe anecdotal, but I would say if you're on a similar dose and thinking of quitting, you will have very little problems.

Is white kratom supposed to taste much better than green ones?

I hadn't tried a white properly before and have never taken red kratom either, but this one that I am trying now is absolutely tasty with water having a little bit of honey 🍯 and extremely tolerable without honey too.

To be honest I'd drink it as a tea, had it not its nice kratom effects anyways.

I first tried kratom two months ago, so I am quite a beginner.

I have not tried many different kinds yet, but this one is definitely way tastier than the green one which is what I have been taking daily.

The green is way bitter and has a much stronger flavour. I am taking the same dose (2g) on the same amount of water so it can't be related to that.

Who left kansas because of ban

I asked the kansas sub, but the ignorance is insane. Anyone leave kansas so they dont go to prison? I was reading, and it is a felony 4 for ANY amount. So that means if you have 1 gram, you can have to go to prison. If you have more than 100 grams that is intent to sell. That is 46 plus months in prison. You have to say a kilo, that's what 10 years? That is fucking insane and someone suffering chronic pain every single minute and everyday of there lives what do they do? I would either leave the country forever, or I would not be around permanently anymore if I were to get arrested for it. But, you can stand in every single state around it and be fine. I am talking about kratom, not that 7OH which ruined it for kratom users in kansas. Fucking insane. If I had known the governor was gonna lie, I would never have moved to kansas.

Utah Poison Control Center Notice: Adulterated Cat’s Claw and Kava Products

The Utah Poison Control Center has published a notice on adulterated Cat's Claw and Kava products.

>The Utah Poison Control Center is alerting the public about potentially dangerous products sold in smoke shops or online that may lead to life-threatening opioid overdose, dependence, or withdrawal. The products contain blends of herbal supplements with Kava or Cat’s Claw. These include “Buzzers” and “Homiez” brand products, but others may be involved as well.

>The poison center has received multiple reports of severe overdose related to these products. We suspect these products are adulterated with synthetic derivatives of kratom such as 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15, or MGM-16. These derivatives are illegal opioid drugs that are more potent than morphine. The product labels are misleading and do not include these drugs as ingredients. In fact, some products may claim to contain no kratom or 7-OH. Investigation and testing of the products involved is ongoing.

**Further Discussion**

There have been discussion of other products sold by retailers using this tactic not mentioned by name in the announcement.

**If you choose to use Cat's Claw (*****Uncaria tomentosa*****), purchase it from retailers such as health food, natural living, or general vitamin shops instead of smoke shops or online retailers selling research chemicals, 7-HMG and other semi-synthetic products, or other "legal high" products.**

Some of these sold by 7-HMG vendors, smoke shops, etc. are selling for >$20 for 3-5 tablets on a paper blister card, some with 21+ labeling, where Cat's Claw from a vitamin store costs around $10-15 for a bottle 100-250 1000mg tablets of comparable strength. Infer what you will from that.

Other products are using terms such as "Propriety Botanical Blend", "DHM" (or "Di-hydro-mitragynine", meaning MGM-15), or "MIT-A" to try to discourage inspections or seizures in illegal states.

An individual may be exposing themselves to products where they are unsure of the contents or where the legal status in their jurisdiction may now, or may shortly be illegal. It may also disrupt their transition/taper process if trying to stop using products slated for imminent scheduling.
