Passed my PPL Checkride!

I just passed my Private checkride. DPE was rumored to be super thorough, but was pretty chill. 7 1/2 hour exam (1 hour to confirm eligibility, 3.5 oral, 30 min lunch break and preflight, 2.5 flight). Weather really cooperated; it was forecast to be very gusty (exceeding my personal minimums) but stayed within limits.

I am so excited and relieved. My dad is a former Air Force and Airline captain (B47s, 707, MD80). Sadly, we won’t get to fly together as he is 92 and bed-ridden. However, our conversations about flying have been some of the best we’ve ever had.

I have a short list of trips to take and then maybe get checked out in a C-172 (all my training has been in a C-150/152) and then maybe something faster. Grateful to my flight school, instructors, and fellow the pilots who helped me succeed.
