Failed club check

I see frequent posts here about failed check rides from PPL to ATP, but am I the only dumb SOB to fail a check ride for a flying club? Twice. After a flight review and approval for rental I joined a club paying a buy in and ended up paying 6 months dues and getting approved for rental at an additional fbo after the first failure. They did reimburse my last month's dues and actually said they would reimburse my buy in (seems fair. Quitting before a year wasn't really my plan) though I haven't seen that yet. What the heck. The fbo at the same airport offers the best rental rates you'll probably find anywhere so at least I'm still flying.
