A new investigation by Declassified UK has exposed a British man who served in the Israeli occupation army and posed for a photograph in front of a burning Palestinian school in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

The investigation identified him as Jonathan Burman, a Manchester-raised British citizen who served in Israel’s 55th Brigade, an elite reserve paratrooper unit. The school, identified as Al-Farabi School in Bani Suheila, was attacked by Israeli occupation forces in December 2023.
