The mayor of Alkmaar, Anja Schouten, has banned all supporters of Israeli club Hapoel Be’er Sheva from attending the Europa League match against AZ Alkmaar on October 15, citing the risk of public disorder by the Israeli fans in and around the city.

The decision follows the violence around Maccabi Tel Aviv’s match against Ajax in Amsterdam in November 2024.
