In a new analysis for +972 Magazine, journalist Meron Rapoport examines how Israel's far-right political parties are campaigning ahead of the 27 October election.
Rapoport argues that political forces associated with Itamar Ben Gvir, Bezalel Smotrich and other far-right figures are demanding further escalation despite the extensive destruction in Gaza, displacement in the West Bank and deterioration in Israel's international standing.
The article highlights calls for the forced departure of Palestinians from Gaza, expanded settlement activity, and harsher military measures. It also argues that policies previously associated with the most extreme factions have increasingly entered mainstream Israeli political debate.
