The systematic destruction of Gaza's judicial infrastructure has dismantled legal protections for women, leaving thousands trapped in bureaucratic limbo.
Following the demolition of the Palace of Justice and roughly half of all Sharia court premises, as well as the destruction of paper archives, judicial operations have nearly ceased.
Consequently, Palestinian widows and divorced women are unable to obtain essential documentation relating to inheritance, child custody, alimony, and divorce.
Without courts to issue the necessary certificates, women cannot access bank funds or protect their assets from seizure by relatives, compelling many to forfeit their legal rights involuntarily.
Furthermore, court rulings cannot be enforced because Israeli military strikes repeatedly target local law enforcement.
