A recently issued Israeli military order restricts vehicle movement through all three entrances to Jenin refugee camp and near the Barta'a crossing in the occupied West Bank until January 1, 2028, requiring military authorization to pass through designated checkpoints.

While the orders do not explicitly ban displaced Palestinians from returning until that date, the restrictions could further hinder thousands of Palestinians from accessing their homes.

Israel launched its military assault on the camp on January 21, 2025, forcibly displacing its entire population, estimated at 16,000 civilians, and causing widespread destruction.
