A new CNN investigation has revealed that Israeli military attacks on Gaza caused the deaths of at least 24 of the 40 captives taken alive on October 7, 2023.

Based on interviews with captive families, Israeli officials and military sources, the report found that 11 captives were killed directly by Israeli strikes or ground invasions.

The investigation also highlighted how Israeli war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu's new demands concerning the Gaza-Egypt border derailed a potential captive-release agreement in July 2024.
