In a recent interview, far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir boasted that he drove three hours to the Ktzi'ot Prison to reprimand the prison service for providing Palestinian prisoners 8 olives instead of 6.

Since October 2023, the minister has implemented a "minimum of the minimum" policy; a deliberate starvation plan for tens of thousands of Palestinian prisoners and detainees, causing mass starvation and malnutrition in overcrowded prisons.

He also revealed in the interview that many prison service personnel send him personal updates directly from the prisons.
