Israel’s Supreme Court began hearing appeals on Thursday against decisions barring Arab electoral lists and candidates from the October 27 Knesset election.

A nine-judge panel is reviewing the disqualification of the Joint List, the United Arab List, Sami Abu Shehadeh and Ofer Cassif, while Arab lawmakers and supporters protested outside the court.
