I feel really confused as I haven’t spoken aloud, with adults, at a high level, for a long-long time. My students are gorgeous young people, mostly teenagers aiming at exams (EGE/IELTS), we talk a lot, but what about really long meaningful conversations on deep topics?
Topics like:
• trends in ELT
• handwriting versus typing versus doing tons of interactive exercises online (lol, like a BIG LOL here)
• AI in education
• AI in educators’ lives
•
• soft skills in teaching
• hard skills in teaching
• books to read and discuss
• TV shows to enjoy (I’m finishing season 2 of ‘Severance’ - who’s gonna discuss it with me?! In English, please!)
Basically, just everything!
I’m feeling how fleeting my own English is becoming. Surrounded by my students’ mistakes, low Internet English and lack of real-life speaking practice.
So talk to me about your English. Are you losing it? Are you ok with that? Looking forward to your replies in the comments ⤵️
