SHERIFF: AIKEN DEPUTY FACES LONG RECOVERY AFTER DEADLY SHOOTING
Aiken County Deputy Ethan Crosby was still in surgery Tuesday after authorities say he was shot and then run over during Monday’s deadly confrontation.
Sheriff Sawyer said Crosby, who has been with the Sheriff's Office for a little more than a year, was talking and doing OK before being taken into surgery Tuesday, but he was still in surgery when the sheriff spoke and faces a long road to recovery.
Sawyer also identified Staff Sgt. Kevin Canalejo, a 14-year veteran and shift supervisor (bottom left), as one of the deputies involved in the shooting along with Crosby.
The sheriff asked the community to continue praying for Crosby, his family and all of the deputies affected by the traumatic incident.🙏🏻
