The Henrico Division of Fire is deeply saddened to announce the unexpected death of Firefighter Ashtain Davis.

Ashtain is a recent graduate of Recruit Academy 86 which completed fire training in July. Prior to joining Henrico, he worked in armed security and served his country in the military.

He continued his path to serve the community when he joined the fire service in 2025.

On Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, Ashtain lost his life in a crash near Interstate 64 and 95 that is currently under investigation by the Virginia State Police.

The Henrico Division of Fire extends its deepest condolences to Ashtain’s family and loved ones and our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate through this difficult time.
