🔬 What do we do?
We try to make the invisible visible. Instead of simply “looking” at cells, tissues, and the microscopic world, we aim to understand them more deeply by using the phase of light, diffraction, holograms, and computation.

🔎 Who are we looking for?
Curious, motivated, and eager-to-learn MSc and PhD candidates who are interested in optics, image processing, experimental systems, or programming. Candidates from Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Physics, Optics/Photonics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and related fields may be a good fit for our group.

💥 NeuroSYNC Webinar Series — Learning Nonlinear Heterogeneity in Physical Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks

📌 Physical neural networks usually keep device nonlinearities fixed and train only the linear weights. Jack's talk turns that on its head: by training the synaptic nonlinearity itself within a Kolmogorov-Arnold framework, his group achieves markedly higher task performance per physical resource — with network sizes up to 40–500x smaller than conventional linear-weight approaches.

🔎 The work is demonstrated on silicon-on-insulator chips running at room temperature, and trained without backpropagation or surrogate device models, using a forward-only, noise-based perturbative learning method that can match or exceed backpropagation's performance.

🐍 توضیحات:

در این ارائه به مدل‌سازی ساختار نورسپهر می‌پردازد که در آن، با استفاده از روابط فیزیکی حاکم بر جوّ ستاره‌ای، پروفیل تغییرات پارامترهای ترمودینامیکی شامل دما، فشار، چگالی و عمق نوری بر حسب عمق هندسی استخراج و تحلیل می‌شود. هدف از این مطالعه، درک دقیق‌تر توزیع کمیت‌های فیزیکی در لایه‌های نورسپهر و چگونگی تأثیر متقابل آن‌ها بر یکدیگر در چارچوب مدل ارائه شده است.

✨ Polarization provides additional contrast and physical information about materials, surfaces, and biological tissues, opening new possibilities in biomedical imaging, remote sensing, and optical metrology.
