π’ UK β PhD Position in Machine Learning for Green Energy at University of Warwick
π University: University of Warwick
π Country: United Kingdom
π Fields:
Materials Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Engineering, Computational Science
Are you passionate about harnessing the power of artificial intelligence and advanced materials to address the global challenge of sustainable energy? If youβre driven to use your skills in machine learning, physics, and engineering to make a tangible impact on the future of green technology, the Centre for Doctoral Training in the Modelling of Heterogeneous Materials (HetSys) at the University of Warwick offers an exceptional opportunity to pursue your ambitions.
The focus of this PhD position is the machine learning-accelerated inverse design of graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) for green energy applications. Thermoelectric materials, which can convert waste heat into electricity, are crucial for sustainable energy production and efficient energy recovery. The effectiveness of these materials is measured by the figure of merit (ZT), which depends on optimizing several interrelated properties: high electrical conductance, a strong Seebeck coefficient, and low thermal conductance.
