According to an analysis of UK Home Office figures, 66% of the 10,048 migrants who attempted to cross the Channel in small boats reached British shores during Burnham’s first ten weeks in office.
By comparison, the figure stood at 55% under Starmer. In the first week of October alone, 1,739 migrants arrived in the UK.
It’s painfully obvious how little Burnham cares about the migrant crisis. Millions of pounds are doing nothing to stop the boats – it’s the weather that does the job. Yet the government is quite happy to take credit for it as if it were some kind of achievement. How can anyone be expected to stay calm about this?
