CryptoPunks leads daily NFT sales with over US$1.34 million

CryptoPunks topped CryptoSlam’s daily NFT chart on Tuesday with US$1.34 million in sales.
This surge in sales was driven by six unique buyers and sellers, with an average price of US$224,950 per NFT.

The collection’s performance pushed its all-time sales volume to US$2.85 billion, third in the industry behind Axie Infinity and Bored Ape Yacht Club.

The second-ranking collection for the day was NodeMonkes, a Bitcoin collection that saw a total of US$881,042 in sales across 84 transactions, involving 72 unique buyers and 60 sellers.

This performance marks an increase from the previous day’s sales of US$428,913.

Paris Match auctions NFTs to commemorate the magazine’s 75th year

Paris Match, a French magazine, is auctioning 75 iconic archival photos as Ethereum (ETH) non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

The auction kicked off on June 17 and showcased a curated selection of historic images from Paris Match’s archives.

These include snapshots of entertainment icons like The Rolling Stones, Jack Nicholson, Orson Welles, and John Travolta. Images of significant historical moments such as the fall of the Berlin Wall and scenes from Harlem and the Tour de France are also included.

Each NFT purchase will include a numbered and signed physical print of the same photo, bridging the gap between traditional art collecting and digital ownership. Bidding for each photo starts at 0.3 ETH, equivalent to approximately $1,062 at current rates.

This initiative marks Paris Match’s second venture into the NFT realm, following a successful sale of 120 unique NFTs in January 2023. The magazine has teamed up with the photo NFT platform Focus Bloc and SuperRare for this auction.

Doodles Will Migrate Avatar Creation 'Stoodio' to Ethereum Layer-2 Base

Doodles, an NFT-driven entertainment property, is making a move. On Monday, the project announced that it will migrate its “Stoodio” avatar customization platform to Ethereum layer-2 scaling network Base, departing the Flow blockchain in the process.

The transition, set to take place in mid-July, aims to leverage Base's cheaper and faster transactions compared to the Ethereum mainnet. Base, which was developed by popular crypto exchange Coinbase, is gaining steam within the increasingly crowded field of Ethereum scaling networks.

The original Doodles profile picture (PFP) collection will remain on Ethereum, and only the Stoodio and the various NFT wearables and character customizations will make the shift from Flow to Base.

Doodles CEO Julian Holguin told Decrypt that leaving Flow—which the project picked back in early 2023—wasn’t due to particular issues or complaints with the network behind NBA Top Shot and other apps, but had more to do with the project’s vision for the future.
