Spotify?

Capa do nowFy e via Scrobbling

Basta configurar e usar.

Preciso fazer algo diferente para usar o Last.FM no plugin enquanto ouço Spotify?

What is Media Source and why is it important?

This feature ensures that nowFy correctly detects the music you're listening to when using Last.FM. That means you'll always get a clean, stylish card with cover art, track title, artist name, and more.
Just go to “Your Last.FM” settings and select the platform you're using, like Spotify, YouTube, or YT Music, so everything works seamlessly. This enhances accuracy and improves the experience.

Do I really need a YouTube API Key?

It's not required, but highly recommended. The key helps nowFy find your currently playing track on YouTube more efficiently whenever you use .fm. And the best part? You only need to set it up once. We provide a simple guide to help you get yours.

I'm listening to music, but .fm says nothing is playing. What should I do?

There are two common causes for this:

Last.FM’s API may take a few seconds to detect playback. If you just started the song, wait a few seconds and try the command again. Also, make sure the service you're using: Spotify, YouTube, etc is properly connected to your Last.FM account.

Are you using a modified client or unofficial app? Scrobbling might not work. This plugin only works with official services and apps, as it relies on their APIs. If you're using a patched or third-party app, consider reaching out to its developer.

Also double-check that your username and API key are correctly filled in under the plugin’s settings.

Trying to Connect

You use an alternative modified app or one made in some basement by a dev. So talk to them. Your notification service lacks attention. If nothing is playing, scrobbling won’t know. It’s tough that way.

nowFy cover and via Scrobbling tag

The nowFy cover and the via Scrobbling tag appear because your Media Source is set differently. To prevent sending an empty card, nowFy adds this image as visual feedback. It’s a reminder for you to correctly set the player in the plugin settings under Last.FM.

The via Scrobbling label is also a feedback message. It usually appears when track data is missing or incomplete, such as artist or album. This often happens with videos that aren’t official music tracks.

I installed the official Last.FM app, enabled scrobbling, but when I use the .fm command, it says nothing is playing or it can't detect anything. What’s going on?

Here’s the truth: the official Last.FM app is quite unreliable and often fails to detect what you’re listening to correctly. I strongly recommend using Pano Scrobbler instead - it’s open source, secure, and works perfectly. It can accurately detect your playing music. Just configure it and you’re good to go.

Do I need to do anything special to use Last.FM with the plugin while listening on Spotify?

No, just connect your Spotify account to Last.FM, set up the plugin with your username and API key, and you’re set. But if you listen to YouTube or other services, you’ll need to use Pano Scrobbler and switch the Media Source setting to your service (e.g., YouTube).

Authorizing the App
Copy your Client ID and enter the command in any chat (I recommend a private chat):

.update + your Client ID

The response to the command will be:

Update Available - Click to Open

A link will be generated, click to open it, then authorize the app permissions. Once you do this, you will be redirected to the site https://example.com/callback with your code. Copy the URL (address) or, if you prefer, copy only what comes after code=.

In other words, the part after = is your code to obtain the access token. After copying your code, return to the chat and use the command (paste that long code you copied.):

.code + your code

You should receive a message like:
Authorization code exchanged successfully!

Now run .check to see if everything is OK, and you’re all set. Open Spotify, play a song, then return to the chat and use the plugin.

After creating your app, you will be redirected to your app’s details page, where you’ll find the Client ID and Client Secret. Copy the Client ID, go to the chat, and use the command:
.setid + your Client ID

Example: .setid AHFdfkashfyu5724h
If you copied it correctly, a confirmation message will appear.

Now return to Spotify for Developers, on the same page where you copied your Client Secret, click View client secret and copy the value shown. Repeat the same process: go back to the chat and use the command:

.setsecret + your Client Secret
If it’s correct, a confirmation message will be sent.

You have completed this step. In the next step, you will authorize your app to use your Spotify account so the plugin can work properly.

After filling in the required fields, such as App name and App description, you need to enter this URL:
https://example.com/callback

When you type or paste it, click the Add button - that’s it.

Check the 'I Understand'... box and click the Save button.

That’s literally all you need to do on the Spotify for Developers site.

Last.fm?

Spotify?

Spotify Premium.

P: Me aparece "INVALID ID". ¿Qué significa?
R: Suele pasar si no seguiste algún paso correctamente.

P: La página de Spotify for Developers no carga.

P: ¿Habrá integración con Last.fm?
R: Lo estoy considerando.

Q: Como utilizo o plugin?
A: Primeiro, baixe o plugin pelo nosso canal (@exteraDevPlugins) e instale.

Q: O site do Spotify for Developers não carrega.

A: Sim, tokens expiram. Para atualizar, use o comando .update e siga as instruções.

Q: Quantas fontes posso usar?

Q: O nowFy terá integração com o Last.fm?

Pois testes e desenvolvimento levam tempo.

Q: O nowFy é só para o Spotify?
A: Sim.

Q: How do I use the plugin?
A: Start by downloading it from our channel (@exteraDevPlugins) and installing it. Read the description to understand the next steps. If you need help, type .help to learn how to configure everything.

Q: I’m getting "INVALID ID". What does that mean?
A: This usually happens when something was done incorrectly. Follow the guide carefully and make sure to complete each step exactly as shown.

Q: The Spotify for Developers website won’t load. What should I do?
A: That’s a network issue on your end. Try switching to a different provider or Wi-Fi. The plugin itself isn’t the problem.

Q: I had already authenticated and everything was working, but now it says I don’t have permission or that I need to update my token.
A: Tokens expire over time. Use the .update command and follow the instructions to refresh it.

Q: How many fonts can I use?
A: It depends on your phone’s memory. Technically, you can use as many as your device can handle.

Q: Will nowFy support Last.fm?
A: It’s being considered. I have a separate plugin for Last.fm, but it needs improvement before any integration. I don’t have a timeline yet, but it’s possible.

Q: Will new features be added?
A: The original idea was just to show what’s playing with a nice look, and here we are. So yes, more features are planned, but gradually. Testing and developing take time.

Q: Is nowFy only for Spotify?
A: Yes. I made it for Spotify because it’s the only service I use. No need to support others when there are already plugins for them.

Q: Why should I use it?
A: Only if you want to. I made nowFy for myself, but it turned out better than I expected, so I shared it. I wanted something that matched my style. If you like it, great. If not, go eat a banana.

Q: What are the available commands?
A: Just type .use and you’ll see the full list of commands supported by the plugin.

Q: Why can't I skip songs or control playback?
A: Spotify's API restricts playback controls (like skip, pause, resume, etc.) to Premium accounts only. If you're using a Free account, these features won't work, even if you've granted all the required permissions. To use the full functionality, you’ll need a Spotify Premium subscription.
