LAST_last_day_v2.

The form closes tonight. After that it goes quiet, the four of us start looking, and the posters do the talking.

Thank you to everyone who sent something — on time, late, or at 23:58 on a Wednesday that turned out not to be the deadline after all.

Closes tonight, Sunday 4 October 2026

Designers and deadlines: nothing exists until the last possible evening, and then three good things appear at once. We know, we are designers.

The form stays open until Sunday 4 October — one more weekend, when the files are already open anyway.

Two days is the exact amount of time in which "I'll do it tomorrow" still works. Once.

International Interior Poster Exhibition — posters for the walls people live with. Online at novart.me, then at Ovo Slovo in Belgrade and a partner space in a second city.

Deadline: Wednesday, 30 September 2026

Sunday review.

Every Sunday we will put one poster on the screen, full size, with no name attached, and ask the only question we ever ask: would you hang it in your own home?

Not whether it is clever. Not who made it. Whether you would live with it, on a wall you walk past every morning, for years.

This is also how we look at every entry to the open call. The form does not ask for a CV, and we do not go looking for one.
This week’s poster is above.

Give it a minute before you answer.

Send your third-best poster.

The best one is the one your mother likes. The second-best is the one that wins your own portfolio. The third-best is usually the one you are not sure about — and it is the one a stranger stops in front of, because it wasn't made to impress anybody.

We are not selecting for a jury. We are selecting for a room somebody lives in, and rooms are not impressed by much. They want something that holds up on a Tuesday.
If you have been holding one back because you cannot decide whether it is good enough — that hesitation is usually the signal, not the warning.

Four days left.

Five days, and a wall that's still mostly empty.

Here's what fills it: posters from people who almost didn't send anything. Every open call we've ever run had the same shape — a quiet middle and a last weekend where half the entries arrive at once. This is that weekend.

If you have the files, you have the time. If you have the doubt, ignore it; that's what the four of us are for.

First the site. Then the wall.

Every Novart exhibition opens online at novart.me.

Every selected work gets a page: the poster, the artist, the links. That page is the exhibition's memory; it stays after the physical show closes.

Then the walls: Ovo Slovo in Belgrade, and a partner space in a second city. Digital works on screen, print works on paper, hung by us.

So a poster you send this month may be seen in a browser in one country and on a wall in another. That's not a metaphor; that's the plan.

Six days left.

No ranking, just a wall: a curatorial selection, not a leaderboard — every poster that's in hangs at the same height, with the same page on novart.me.

Eight days left.

What to prepare.

Preview: JPG or PNG, 7:10, ideally 2800 × 4000 px (at least 1400 × 2000).

Animated: MP4 or MOV, with audio if there is any.

Print file (if you choose print): A3, A2 or 700 × 1000 mm, CMYK, 300 dpi, PDF, TIFF or JPG. Large files — a link to a folder is fine.

File name: FirstNameLastName_Country_Title_Size_Number, Latin letters.

A short note about you, and your links.

That's the whole list. The form takes about ten minutes; the fee is paid in the form.

Meet a designer — Niklaus Troxler.

Willisau is a small town in Switzerland. For nearly forty years its jazz festival was known as much for who was playing as for the poster outside — hand-set, screen-printed, unmistakably his.

Niklaus Troxler has spent his career drawing jazz the way it sounds: loose, bold, occasionally dissonant. He ran the Willisau Jazz Festival from 1975 to 2009 and made a poster for nearly every concert along the way. Hundreds of them now sit in the collections of MoMA and the Stedelijk Museum.

His work is proof of something we believe in too — a poster doesn't need a big venue to matter. It needs a wall, one strong idea, and someone willing to look twice.

New rubric: every so often we introduce you to a designer whose posters we think belong on a wall.
