The order to restrict the operation of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite system, which the Ukrainian military uses for communications and controlling drones, came from the White House. Reuters reports, citing two U.S. officials and a representative of a Western country familiar with the situation.

The agency learned that Pentagon leadership received a message stating that the provision of Starshield services to the Ukrainian military needed to be slowed down.

At the same time, a senior U.S. official told the agency that U.S. President Donald Trump did not personally issue such an order. Reuters’ sources did not specify who exactly gave the order.
