🇮🇷 Iran announces the resumption of maritime trade despite the American blockade
According to Iranian media, the country’s maritime trade is gradually resuming despite the restrictions imposed by American naval forces. The reports cite an estimate of 40% of the previous volume, but neither their original source nor the method of calculation could be confirmed. Meanwhile, data from international analytics companies show that oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has declined significantly.
Washington says the blockade is hindering the export of Iranian oil, while Tehran says it continues to retain control over part of the sea routes. The confrontation is accompanied by attacks on merchant ships, rising insurance rates, and the diversion of oil flows via alternative routes. According to Kpler, the daily volume of oil transported through the Strait of Hormuz stood at around 8.5 million barrels in early October—about 40% below the usual level.
