🇺🇸🇺🇦 Trump called for a change in Ukraine’s president and stated that Russia was ready for an agreement

US President Donald Trump called on Ukraine to replace Volodymyr Zelenskyy with a leader who can reach an agreement with Russia. Speaking at the White House, he said that Kyiv needed a new leader who would be willing to conclude an agreement to end the war. Trump also expressed the belief that Vladimir Putin was interested in reaching an agreement and blamed the Ukrainian leadership for the lack of progress.

The latest escalation in relations between Washington and Kyiv followed the US decision to temporarily allow the import of Russian diesel fuel. Trump called on Ukraine to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries, as he believes these are contributing to the rise in global fuel prices. Zelenskyy criticized the American energy agreements with Moscow, saying they provided Russia with additional revenues to continue the war.

The American government is increasingly openly linking the prospects for a peace agreement to a change in Kyiv’s political course. At the same time, US energy interests are beginning to directly influence Washington’s position in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
