🇩🇪 Merz: Unstable federal government would have “immeasurable consequences”

Friedrich Merz acknowledged that Germany’s partners in the EU and beyond are already raising questions about the stability of the federal government. According to the Chancellor, such questions are being voiced increasingly often — and Berlin must prove that it is capable of remaining able to act in both foreign and domestic policy. Merz publicly acknowledged international partners’ concerns about the stability of the German cabinet.

The Chancellor warned that the federal government’s inability to fulfill its duties would have “immeasurable consequences” for the entire European continent. The statement was made in Kyiv against the backdrop of internal conflicts within the coalition and growing pressure on the CDU.
